VA Initiatives and Programs Bolster Support for Veterans and Their Families Veteran Employment Grant Program Launch

On March 13th, 2024, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced a new $4 million grant program aimed at assisting veterans and their spouses in finding post-military employment. 

This initiative reflects a continued commitment by the VA to support the successful transition of veterans to civilian careers, providing them with the tools necessary for economic stability.

National Women’s Health Week Focuses on Veteran Needs

Running from May 12-18, National Women’s Health Week is an important observance, reminding women and women veterans to prioritize both their physical and mental health. 

With over 800,000 women veterans served by the VA, this week underscores the unique health challenges faced by women who have served in the military.

USDA Offers Free Farming and Beekeeping Opportunities for Veterans

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is now providing financial, educational, and business training resources specifically tailored for veterans interested in agriculture. 

Through the Military Veterans Agricultural Liaison, veterans can explore opportunities in farming and beekeeping, ensuring they have the necessary tools to succeed in rural and agricultural careers.
